Daniel Vigara, from Talleres Rodri, on CAR: «It has a high return on investment»

In 2020 Seat awarded Talleres Rodri, located in Cardedeu, near Barcelona, with the distinction of being one of the ten most excellent workshops in Spain. The award, in the words of the brand based in Martorell, «recognizes the constant and continuous effort of the whole team».

We spoke with Daniel Vigara, head of the workshop, whose business has been linked to Inforserveis for more than twenty years and for six years with CAR.

With him we talked about the present and future of our sector and how our software helps them to provide the best customer service and being recognised by SEAT with an award of that caliber.

A life dedicated to the automobile sector

Daniel Vigara has more than two decades of experience in the repair sector, where he started as a mechanic. «I started very young»,  he recalls, «repairing cars for hire in a small multi-brand workshop».

Rodri came to Talleres looking for a professional jump, like so many other specialists in a sector that is in constant movement. «There I met my wife, and I began to get more involved in the economic management of the workshop, apart from pure mechanics».

In 2007, the workshop manager retired and it was Daniel who took over that responsibility for more than seven years. His diligence and dedication then led him to assume another position of great responsibility: that of manager who continues to perform today.

«This situation allows me to develop both personally and professionally and motivates me a lot to move forward, looking for new challenges and opportunities», he says.

The automotive sector, constantly evolving

From his position of responsibility, Daniel Vigara has experienced first-hand the profound changes that the automotive sector has undergone: from the 2008 crisis to the current pandemic, as well as the technological changes and the modernisation process of recent years.

«Its is clear that technology is advancing very quickly», he reflects on the direction the sector will take in the coming years.

«Right now it’s a bit difficult to know where it’s going», he continues «as we are in a very ill-defined transitional stage»

In the light of this scenario, there are opportunities to gain market share. «Companies, in my view, have to adapt to change», he explains, «they have to ve living companies, not stuck in old, rudimentary processes»

For him it is key to look to the future trying to find competitive advantages: «it is necessary to be in a constant process of renovation».

Since 2005 working with Inforserveis and CAR

In this context, Talleres Rodri was among the first to seek differentiation from the competition through technology. Already in 2005 they started working with the DMS of Inforserveis.

«As soon as CAR was launched, we thought it was a very innovative product», he recalls, «and that if could provide a direct sales opportunity to the customer». The situation was «very efficient and beneficial for the company»

After the start-up phase, in which possible frictions were ironed out, «the programme was going very well”, recalls Daniel. «And the good thing about it is that when something goes wrong, you call them and they fix it immediately»

«It is a very agile programme, it works very well because it is attractive to the eye and intuitive».

Ease of use and return on investment

If there is one thing that Daniel Vigara highlights, it is the benefit derived from the implementation of CAR. «It helps us to save time, because the quality of the incoming goods is better and faster», he explains, «budgets are quicker and all the workshop processes are more controlled»

Moreover, CAR’s influence is noticeable in the profit and loss account: «it has a high return on investment, as the increase in turnover is remarkable»

Of the different options offered by CAR software, Daniel wouldn’t know which one to choose: «We think we can get a return on all of them», he admits, «although perhaps on a purely economic level, CRM is the one that gives us the best return».

Thanks to CRM you can keep track of all your customers, both active and latent, in order to increase the number of business contacts throughout the year.
