How often do you have to contact a workshop’s customer?

Vehicle inspections are essential for their maintenance and safety. Contacting customers periodically is essential to guarantee personalized attention, follow-up and gain their trust so that they leave their vehicle in the best hands.

Why contact customers?

One of the most important factors related to safe driving is car maintenance. It is essential to respect car inspections to ensure safety on the road. However, most people aren’t sure when it is advisable to take their vehicle to a mechanic shop for a service.

Therefore, it is interesting that customers are contacted by the mechanical workshop at this point. Keeping track of the condition of the vehicles is an advantage, since it offers personalized attention that many customers appreciate. This extra serviceincreases the customer’s confidence in the garage.

When to contact customers?

To ensure that a vehicle is in optimal driving conditions at all times, there have been established three official follow-up inspections. Knowing the mileage at the garage –which indicates the need for inspection–, will help determine when the vehicle should pay a visit to the workshop and, therefore, when to contact clients.

This service reflects the closeness and disposition that the workshop offers to its customers, who often need help in this area. CAR is a great ally here, as it facilitates instant communication with the customer. Keeping in touch is now easier with this tool.

Three official inspections

As it has been pointed out, there are three official inspections that must be carried out to check that the vehicle is in proper condition. these visits to the workshop depend on the mileage and the recommendations of the vehicle brand itself.

Thefirst check focuses on the brakes, different fluid levels, the battery, the filters, the tires, the shock absorbers, the lights and the brushes. The main safety points of the vehicle are also inspected.

The car manufacturer determines the secondofficial check. But, generally, it is around 30,000 or 35,000 kilometers, although it all depends on the car brand and model.

In this case, the main points to be checked are the active and passive safety systems, the state of the antifreeze liquidand all the mechanical elements that were already checked at the first examination.

As for the third official inspection, it usually takes place at around 60,000 kilometers and it includes all the control points included in both the first and the second checkups.

Contact customers based on elapsed time

It is difficult to know clients’ mileage at all times. Therefore, another detail that indicates when they have to return to the workshop is the elapsed time. Each manufacturer establishes the recommended periodicity for car checkups. Generally, it’s recommended to go through the workshop every 12 months.

Considering this advice, it is appropriate to contact customers after a year of their visit to the workshop. After 12 months, it is mandatory to carry out an inspection to ensure that the vehicle continues in the best conditions.

Fluid check

One of the most important points is the oil check, since this is essential for the engine to function properly. Therefore, it must be changed at about 20,000 and 30,000 kilometers. This means that to prevent the engine from burning, you have to go to the workshop.

Something similar happens with the coolant, which must be replaced every 20,000 – 30,000 kilometers traveled, or every two years, just like the brake fluid. As for the steering fluid, many brands recommend replacing it every one to two years.

According to the kilometers indicated for each service, experts point out that every one or two years customers should be contacted to carry out these regular checkups. This follow-up reflects professionalism and attention, for which CAR becomes the perfect tool, since it enables instant communication with the customer.

CAR offers both a fluid and fast communication, as well as the digitization of the information. This forms the perfect tandem to manage the workshop and its services correctly. Keeping in touch with customers is now much easier and immediate.
